INTENANOMAT

(Industry and Nanotecnology)

Introduction

INTENANOMAT S.L. is a spin-off company founded in 2010 from the Institute of Materials Sciences of the University of Valencia.  Its main business activity is the development, production and marketing of different types of nanoparticles (metallic, semiconductor, dielectric, magnetic and others) and polymer-based nanocomposites or metal oxides of great interest for the cosmetics, bio-technology industry (bio-medicine, biosensors, biomarkers), environmental science, renewable energy and electronics/optoelectronics.

Its objective is to become an industry benchmark in the field of research and synthesis of nanoparticles, mainly metal, and in the development of other multi-functional nanomaterials for optoelectronic applications, sensors and photocatalysis, amongst others.

In its R+D + I developments, it collaborates intensively with the Optoelectronic Materials and Devices Unit of the Institute of Materials Sciences.

Technical Specifications

Intenanomat develops and markets a wide range of nanoparticles of different sizes and properties:

  • Complex metal-dielectric nanoparticles (Au-SiO2, Pt-SiO2,) in colloidal form functionalised on demand.
  • Complex nanoparticles Nanodiamante-SiO2, in colloidal form functionalised to the letter.
  • Complex nanoparticles Au-NanoTubos and Pt-NanoTubo in colloidal form functionalised on demand.
  • Nanoparticles of Gold, Platinum, Silver and diamond in colloidal form functionalised to the letter.
  • Semiconductor nanoparticles (CdS, CdSe, CdTe, PbS, PbSe, PbTe ...) and magnetic (Fe3O4, Co ...) in colloidal form functionalised on demand.
  • Conductive metallic nanoparticle pastes (Au, Ag, Pt, Pd, Ir) in polymeric base.
  • Pastes based on nanocomposites of metallic, dielectric, semiconductor nanoparticles.
  • Colorimetric biosensors of LSPR type (Localised Surface Plasmon Resonance) of low cost based on a nanocomposite polymer-nanoparticle that can be printed as a label on plastic.  Its application is mainly aimed at the food sector, for the monitoring of the freshness of food and beverages.
Benefits of Technology

INNOVATIVE ASPECTS

  • Synthesis of high quality nanoparticles with a given size to avoid the risk of problems associated with nanometric size.
  • Synthesis of nanoparticles both in colloidal solution and powder.
  • Incorporation of nanoparticles in polymers allowing their application in surfaces of interest, by means of deposition techniques such as spin-coating, dip-coating, printing by injection or dispensing, spray, etc.
  • Surface chemical modification to the letter of nanomaterials for functionalisation with bio-molecules, or for their dispersion in polymers or oxides.

COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES

  • Low cost:  the new nanomaterials have several functionalities within the fields of application of interest, maintaining a low cost and increasing the products´ added value.
  • Innovative products:  recent applications and products created from nanomaterials tend to have innovative solutions to previously unresolved problems, or to offer better results with a higher level of precision or duration.
