Who we are

The University of Valencia Science Park Foundation (FPCUV) was established in 2009 as a non-profit organisation of general interest, to promote the transfer of knowledge from scientific research into commercial production, and to facilitate and support the genesis and development of innovative business, and activities with a high scientific and technical content. Its founding patrons were the Bancaja Foundation, the Banco Santander, the Valencia Chamber of Commerce and the Valencian Business Confederation, as well as the University of Valencia itself.

The FPCUV is responsible for the management and governance of the business area of the University of Valencia Science Park, at all times in harmony, along agreed lines, with the Foundation´s Patrons and especially the University of Valencia.

The University of Valencia Science Park is integrated into the university campus of Burjassot-Paterna, but it carries out its activities in the three campuses of the academic institution: Tarongers, Blasco Ibáñez and the previously mentioned Burjassot-Paterna.

This ecosystem of innovation has two differentiated, but complementary areas:

Who we are

The Scientific and Academic Area

A 45,653 sq. m. space for the generation of knowledge.  It consists of two unique centres and seven Research Institutes, including one distinguished as 'Severo Ochoa' (the Institute of Corpuscular Physics, IFIC) and the other honoured by the 'María de Maeztu' (Institute of Molecular Science, ICMol), both ministerial recognitions for research excellence.

The Business Area

It occupies an area of 26,700 sq.m., which accounts for 40% of the Science Park´s constructed area, and is divided into three blocks of buildings (1SC, BIOTEC and CUE), with offices and laboratories of different sizes and features; a business nursery; and three spaces for coworking, one of them located in Tarongers campus.

An ideal environment for the generation, development and strengthening of innovative companies, with a scientific and technological base, as well as for the location of scientific-technical companies, based on knowledge and innovation and established in the market.

It is the FPCUV´s main building with a 7,321.46 sq.m. surface, distributed on four floors. It is the constructive element that identifies this ecosystem of innovation; it acts as a gateway and concentrates all the necessary functions for the control and administration of the Park.

It has offices, studies and a co-working area (Business incubator). In addition, it has different designed training and meeting rooms, and an auditorium with a maximum capacity for 225 people. All common use rooms have the latest wireless multimedia equipments.

Here are located companies whose areas of activity are related to Information Technology and Communication (ITC), Energy and Environment and Advanced Services.

Of an industrial character, this building of three floors, totalling more than 2400 sq.m. of laboratories and production plant. It has specialised equipment for bio-technology and genomics, and combines productive uses at laboratory scale with offices and studies for administration and services. Two participating companies occupy 100% of the building.

It has an approximate surface of 5,000 sq.m., distributed in premises, laboratories, offices and work spaces. More than 20 companies are installed in this building, including The Spanish Type Culture Collection (CECT).

1350 sq.m. of business incubation spaces, laboratories and offices, located next to the University of Valencia´s Research Institutes.

It was designed to host pre-business or entrepreneurial projects in its early growth stages, promoted both by the University's spin-offs and research groups and by external companies.

A new office concept is proposed, between a virtual address and an individual office.  It includes spaces for shared use for entrepreneurs and recently formed companies. The Science Park has three spaces of these characteristics:

            - Two incubators located on the 1st and 2nd floor of Building 1SC of the Science Park (Burjassot-Paterna campus)

            - A incubator located on the 5th floor of the Beatriu Civera Building (Tarongers campus)
